Help Save Facades! 1) Tell the authorities to Save the Facades!
Compose your own message or feel free to cut and paste the following: The Twin Towers' salvaged facades, the visual symbols of 9/11, will soon be chopped-up and displayed in an underground museum. This is insulting. These shattered elements brought comfort and inspiration to a despairing city, nation and world. We must preserve history. There is an alternative - the facades can surround the Tower footprints as part of the World Trade Center Memorial design known as Reflecting Absence. The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation should require that the facades be incorporated into the above-ground memorial.
