The Twin Towers’ shattered facades are the visual symbols of 9/11.  They provided comfort
and resolve in the weeks and months following the terrorist attacks.  The public was assured that these poignant remnants would be included in the future memorial.  But now the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation wants to hide them in an underground museum.

There is an alternative. Incorporate the facades into the World Trade Center Memorial’s design known as “Reflecting Absence.”

The Parthenon in Athens, a symbol of Western democracy, was reduced to a mere skeleton when it was attacked on September 26, 1687.  Yet it still embodies freedom, beauty and inspiration.  Similarly, the sunken U.S.S. Arizona is forever inseparable from December 7, 1941.  Our ancestors recognized the importance of historic remnants.  We can share this same gift
with future generations by preserving the WTC facades.

"Save The Facades" is a nonprofit organization with the mission of reinstalling the Twin Tower facades around the Tower footprints.  This website provides examples of what is possible.
Join the fight to preserve history.
